Grommet is used to create an airtight seal between your lid hole and the airlock. Arishtam’s Grommet has an 8mm ID (internal diameter) making it suitable for most airlocks ( especially S type and 3 Piece Airlock), blow-off tubes, and brewing attachments. It is made from food-grade Nitrile N70. Therefore, it does not crack or give off foul smells making it perfect for home brewing.
Take any plastic lid of your fermenter. Subsequently, use a soldering iron or hot iron nail to drill a 12mm hole for this grommet. Do a pressure test to check if the grommet seal is airtight.

The rubber seems very hard, previously I bought here, it waa good, but this item seems hard, doesn’t feel like rubber
sir these are food grade nitrile silicone material the ordinary rubber is neither food grade also it attracts mold and microbes
sir it is nitrile food grade rubber not the latex rubber thank cracks
it is hard so that it can hold the iarlock otherwise the soft rubber the airlock bends is not errect
The grommet is too big for the S type airlock. Could not use it. Also its too hard to push into the hole made into the lid. It cracked during the attempt made to push it.
Sir you will need cling wrap, teflon tape or some food grade packing material to ensure a tight fit.
the grommet has a slit construction half of the grommet should be above the lid and half to be below the lid, a 10mm hole using a drill bit in the lid is usually enough a tight fit
