Brewing Instructions

Making the solution

1. Take 1500gm of Liquid Malt Extract (the thick brown syrup) and add it to 15 liters of sterilized water.
2. Add 500gm of table sugar to improve the ABV (without sugar you will get 3% ABV beer)
3. Add 6-10gm of hops. You can also add some coriander seeds, orange/lemon zest (peels), etc. to make some more citrusy or spicy beers.
4. Boil the solution and stir it for 5 minutes.
5. While your beer wort is cooling, you can prepare the fermenter.

Prepare the fermenter

1. Take a glass jar or a fermenter bottle with an airtight screw lid.
2. Drill the hole in the lid and attach the S-type airlock and the grommet to create the seal. Make sure that the fittings are tight and no air can escape or pass in.
3. Take 5ml of sanitizer and dissolve it in 5 liters of RO water. Wash all equipment with the solution. No need to rinse the equipment again with tap water. This rinse-free sanitizer in the kit does not leave any harmful residue.

Starting the fermentation

1. Cool the solution to 25 degrees or room temperature. You can place it in an ice bath to chill faster.
2. Pour the entire packet of yeast and seal the fermenter.
3. Pour 15ml of water into the airlock and store it in a cool and dry place.

Waiting for the magic to happen

1. After about 48 hours the airlock should start bubbling.
2. Wait for a week (7 days since the addition of yeast) for the fermentation to complete and the airlock to stop its activity.
3. Place your jar in the refrigerator for 24 hours. This will clear your beer and cause the yeast to sediment out.
4. Now add 40gm of priming sugar (provided in the sachet) to the beer and bottle the clear liquid beer in glass bottles.
5. Over the next 3 days the carbonation will form and you will get a nice fuzzy beer.
6. Serve chilled to your friends and family. Don’t forget to send some of the praises you receive our way.

Additional Instructions

1. Always brew in a clean environment
2. Ensure that the airlock is secure and the air does not leak. Otherwise, the ethanol will get oxidized to vinegar.
3. Avoid Direct light or extreme heat (more than room temperature). Sunlight leads to skunk beer and high temperature leads to the formation of higher alcohol that can cause headaches
